From Humble Beginnings

Chine PadenThe Latin American Bible Institute of Mexicali is the next step to realizing a dream, which is to take the Gospel to the entire Spanish-speaking community in the Americas.  The dream started with brother Cline Paden back in 1962, when he returned from the mission field and established the Latin American Bible School in Lubbock, Texas.

  • In 1962 Cline Paden established a preachers training school. (The first class had 6 students)
  • In 1962 Cline Paden established a preachers training school. (The first class had 6 students)
  • In 1969 – 175 students annually.
  • In 1973 – The program "Adventures in Missions" (AIM) began.
  • In 1980 – The school had 300 students annually.
  • In 1984 – The famed “Pink House” was established in Mexico City.
  • In 1995 – The name changed to Sunset International Bible Institute, and Cline handed the rein of SIBI over to Truitt Adair.

With respect for brother Cline Paden’s original intentions, the preachers training school in Mexicali has been named the Latin American Bible Institute of Mexicali (LABIM).  Along with schools in Miami and Houston, LABIM will complete the dream of sending well trained preachers, teachers, and church leaders into Mexico, Central and South America, and of course, the United States.

Expanding the Kingdom
LABIM's marching orders are: Mark 16:15

  • But how will they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14)
  • Our concern is for the lost, for those who are spiritually poor, and those who have been taught a distortion of the truth.
  • Millions of Spanish-speaking people want to hear the gospel in their own language: They’re hungry for the bread of life.
  • The technology exists to train teachers & preachers efficiently in the Spanish language, anywhere! (We are going to utilize video-conferencing and Interactive teleconferencing.)  Our teachers will be able to provide quality instruction from wherever they happen to be.
  • This outreach ministry is revolutionary and dynamic.  It will make a real difference in the lives of those people who need living water.

Our Plan is to Work God’s Plan

  • Paul told Timothy, "...the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others." 2 Timothy 2:2
  • Train & equip qualified preachers, teachers, and church leaders who have a passion to expand the Kingdom.
  • We'll evangelize the lost in their own language.
  • We'll establish Spanish speaking churches and help them to mature and multiply, being faithful to the Word of God.

What they say...

  • daniel_m   My name is Daniel, from Mexicali Baja California, I’m 23 years old and it has been 12 years since I became a Christian.
I grew up without the support of a father because my dad died when I was a young child. Thanks to my Mom’s effort, I got to know my heavenly father since I was 5 years of age when we started going to the church.
